Yeah the jazz music is cool and some of the scenes and messages in it are quite nice, but Pixar’s views on eternity and the afterlife added to the fact that people’s souls can end up in cats and can concurrently be both on Earth and eternity is just so far beyond what the bible teaches that it’s hard for me to wrap my head around. Pixar’s other 2020 film Onward is ten times better than Soul despite the fact that Soul has some killer jazz in it.

For the adventure lover: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade; honestly, my favorite of the Indiana Jones films and Harrison Ford and Sean Connery have great chemistry with each other.

For the Christian movie fan: Courageous; arguably the Kendrick brothers’ best film and is easily one of the better Christian movies. Definitely worth watching if you haven’t seen it.

Finding Nemo is one of Pixar’s most entertaining. To Kill A Mockingbird holds its own with the book. Interstellar is flawed but still very moving. The Tree of Life is Malick’s masterpiece, and one of the rare Hollywood movies that explore the value of family without lapsing into sentimentality.
